Who Will Help
You?
Mariyah was a very
intelligent and pious little girl. Not only was she at the
top of her class in school and madrasah but she was also
caring and helpful. Mariyah always tried to help her mother
with the housework and was always willing to run an errand
for her father.
Mariyah's parents were
also pious, practising Muslims and always advised her on
how to live as a good Muslim. Once her mother taught her
the lesson that if you ever lose anything you should
recite, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un" and also ask
Allah (SWT) to help you find your missing
item.
It so happened that two
days after learning this lesson Mariyah lost her new pencil
whilst playing with her friends at school. The little girl
started to cry as this was a gift from her
grandmother.
After a little while
Mariyah remembered the lesson taught to her by her mother.
Quickly drying her eyes she recited the dua and asked Allah
(SWT) to help her find her lost pencil. Before lunch time
had finished Mariyah's best friend, Fatimah, found her
pencil in the playground and returned it to her. The little
girl became very happy and thanked Allah for helping
her.
Moral:
Whenever we face any
difficulty or hardship we should ask Allah (SWT) for help.
It is only through Allah's Help and Mercy that our troubles
will come to an end. Similarly, we must remember to thank
Allah (SWT) when our difficulties have been
removed.
THE GOLDEN
EGG
Once in
a village far away lived a little girl by the name of
Sumayyah. She lived with her mother and had lost her father
at a very young age. They were very poor and used to barely
find enough food to pass the day. Once an old man gave them
a small chicken as a gift. They were very pleased and
looked after the chicken with a lot of care. As the chicken
grew older, it began to lay eggs. Sumayyah would rush to
collect the egg first thing in the morning. One morning
Sumayyah found that the chicken had laid a very strange egg
- it was a golden egg! She ran to show it to her mother, and
to their amazement it was a real gold egg. They went and
sold the egg and received a lot of money.
The chicken started to lay a gold egg every morning and
before Sumayyah and her mother knew it, they were living a
life of great luxury.
But Sumayyah's mother slowly started to get greedy. She
told Sumayyah one morning, 'It's very good that this
chicken lays a golden egg every morning, but it makes us
wait 24 hours before it gives us another one.' She
continued, 'Instead of this, I have an idea'. She took
Sumayyah to the kitchen and asked her to take the knife...
'But mum..!' exclaimed Sumayyah. But her mother didn't want
to listen as she hurried towards the hen house. She told
Sumayyah, 'If we cut the chicken we will get all the gold
in one go, this way we won't have to wait every morning for
it to lay an egg for us.' Sumayyah knew this was a very bad
idea but her mother did not want to know. She cut the
chicken... 'Where's all the gold?' she asked, as she looked
at the dead chicken. There was no gold of course, just a
dead chicken which will never lay a golden egg again.
Sumayyah turned away in sadness whispering to herself, 'All
because of greed!'

The King or The
Kingdom
Once there was a king who had a
huge kingdom. He hod a very large palace with
many rooms of which there were some rooms full of gold
and silver. He also had many slaves, but from these
slaves he had one slave, Mahmood whom he loved very
much.
Once the king decided that he wanted to have an
open day in his palace in which people from his entire
kingdom would come and take whatever they placed their
hands on. The date was fixed and the time between Fajr
and Maghrib was chosen to be the time of
opening.
Very soon the day arrived and people queued
outside the gates of the palace. Immediately after the
Fajr salah the gates opened and the crowd began rushing
straight into the king's palace and taking whatever they
could get their hands on.
As time for Maghrib approached the king turned
to his slave, Mahmood, and said, 'Do you not intend to
take anything from my kingdom? Quickly, go! Place your
hands on something before it is too late'. Mahmood
replied, 'Could I have whatever I place my hands on?' The
king replied, 'Of course! Can't you see people have been
comming since Fajr and taking whatever they wanted!'
Mahmood paused for a while and slowly moved his hands in
the direction of the king and very inteligently placed
them on the king's shoulders and said, 'This is what I
want, the items in your kingdom will soon finish but if I
have you then the entire kingdom will be
mine.'
Like in the story we are also in a big kingdom
with our King "Allah". Though we should ask
Allah for everything we want, as He is the only One
who gives, our aim should always be to acquire Allah.
Because when Allah becomes ours then whatever we need
will be ours. And the way to acquire Allah is to follow
the teachings of the Qur'an and
Hadeeth.

Kinder Character
We are Muslims so let us
try,
Never cheat or tell a
lie.
Nor to backbite or to be
rude,
Or with people to be
cruel.
We are Muslims so let us
aim,
Never to hurt or harm or
pain.
Nor to show-off or
deceive,
Or to carry an unfair
deed.
We are Muslims, try we
should,
To leave all wrongs and plant all
good.
To please Allah a whole lot
better,
Let us start with a kinder
character.
